We have been a single car family for two years. So Blaine and I take each other to work, and pick each other up, or our families help us with rides. My mom, dad, and sisters have picked me up from work, or taken me and my son where we need to go more times than I can count.
I've prayed for a long time that we would be able to afford a second car, but it just hasn't been God's plan. For a long time, I couldn't help but pine for it. I wanted another vehicle so badly I couldn't stand it. And then I heard something that just CLICKED with me.
I heard someone say that you have to pray with the right motives. My prayer had always been "Please God help us get a car." It wasn't "Thank you for the family we have that has been so helpful, and thank you for the car we do have. If it is your will Lord our family would be so grateful for a second car." And that was where I was going wrong. I didn't pray for God's will to be done. I prayed for what I wanted.
So I began to pray about everything like that. I prayed that His will would be done, even if its not what I wanted. Once I paired that with genuine gratitude to God, things really started to change.
Last night, Blaine and I were blessed to be able to buy our first brand new car. We are officially a TWO CAR FAMILY! It was such an exciting thing for us and we have a wonderful God to thank for it!!
