I heard something on Sunday that spoke very loudly to me, "He is always more ready to listen, than we are to pray". How true.
We pray to God and ask Him to help us through this, or to bless us with that, but when He does what we ask, we don't think about the fact that He has just answered our prayer!! Often times, we should pray to Him to help us and instead we think that its too big for Him to handle. That. Is. FOOLISH.
I'm guilty of it all the time. I pray daily, hourly, sometimes every minute when I'm struggling. I'll ask God to help me be positive all day, because I battle a negative attitude, and when He does, when I realize I've gone whole day and I haven't focused on the negative, I forget that He did that!! NOT ME! But when there's a month and money is tight and I'm worried about how we are going to pay our bills, I think that is just too much for God to handle. How can He stretch what is obviously not enough money, to cover all of this?! Again I say, THAT IS FOOLISH! He can do anything!! And He always makes sure we have enough. ALWAYS.
"O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!"
Jeremiah 32:17
That is the truth. The promise that He will always provide. He will never abandon us!
I've been praying for patience and peace a lot lately. There has been a lot of stress and worry over the last few weeks. I have had to really lean on Him and I have had to work very hard to depend on Him to take care of me, of my family, of our hurts and our worries. It's hard, but our God can do anything.
He has healed my family. Once it would have been impossible for me to talk to a certain person, and now I freely and honestly tell her I love her each time we talk. Our hearts have been softened to one another and it was nothing but the power of prayer and the blessings of God that made it possible again. A year ago, I would have thought that was too big a task for anyone, even God. Now I know better and I am thankful.
So, I guess what I learned was that no matter what, we need to remember that God is powerful. He can and will take care of all of our needs!!
"Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares for you."
